Personal Narrative: How I Helped My Grandparents
My grandparents came to live in the United States.
I will never forget how I helped my grandparents when they first came to America. My grandparents wanted to visit their friends who lived near us. My mother drew a map. Then Mom went to her work. I picked up the map and asked my grandparents to follow me. First, we walked downtown. I pointed to each street sign and said the street name in English. Then I pointed to the street’s name on the map. My grandparents nodded and looked at the map. Soon we were at their friends’ house. When the door opened, my grandmother began to cry. But I knew she was not sad. She was happy. I felt happy, too. I had helped my grandparents.
