Living and Nonliving Things Together

Animals live in ecosystems that have the living and nonliving things they need to survive. For example, bears live in ecosystems that have food, water, and places to build homes.

Look at the photograph. The bears and plants are the living things. The water and air are the nonliving things. Bears eat the plants and drink the water. They use the trees and land to build places to sleep.
