The sport of baseball stopped when many men went to fight in World War II. In 1943, a new baseball league started: the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. Over 600 women played for the league from 1943 to 1954.
In 1943, the South Bend Blue Sox won the very first league championship for the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League.
