A Photo Problem

Jane Gottesman will never forget the day that she read about the 1994 Winter Olympics. When she opened her newspaper on that day, she read that both Picabo Street and Alberto Tomba had won silver medals in skiing. There was a photograph of Street smiling at the camera and wearing a cowboy hat. In the photograph of Tomba racing, Tomba looked like an athlete. Picabo did not. That really bothered Gottesman.
