Place Your Order

Subjects and Word Order

Sentences usually follow this pattern: subject illustration of a short arrow verb. In a sentence, a subject tells about someone or something. The subject usually comes first in a sentence. A subject is a noun or noun phrase.

To find the subject in a sentence, ask yourself: Whom or what is the sentence about?
