MAKE COMPARISONS

Work with a partner. Make a comparison chart for Crops. Follow these steps.

• 1 Set up a chart like the one below.

  cranberries
  wheat
  cotton
  potatoes
  oranges
  sugar cane

• 2 Read the book again. As you read, fill in the rest of the chart. Tell how farmers plant and harvest each crop. Tell what products are made from the crops.

• 3 Use your completed chart to compare the crops. Talk to a partner. Discuss how some of the crops are alike. Discuss how they are different. Use words like these:
