Some pronouns tell who or what does the action. They are called subject pronouns.Anna likes animals.
She works at a pet shop.
Ernesto works there, too.
He is in charge of the fish section.
It is a big area in the store.
Anna takes care of the birds.
They are in cages.
OBJECT PRONOUNSEXAMPLES
Some pronouns come after an action verb or after a word like to, for, or with. They are called object pronouns.The parrots get hungry at 5 o’clock.
Anna feeds them every day.
The parrots are nice to her.
One day, Ernesto fed the parrots.
They didn’t like him.
The parrots took the food and threw it on the floor.
Now only Anna can feed them.
POSSESSIVE PRONOUNSEXAMPLES
A possessive pronoun tells who or what owns something.
It is sometimes called a possessive adjective.
Anna’s favorite parrot is a red-and-blue male.
His name is Repeat.
Repeat knows how to say her name.
Repeat knows Ernesto’s name, too.
The bird says their names over and over again.
