Use Different Kinds of Sentences

There are four kinds of sentences. Start every sentence with a capital letter. Each kind of sentence has a different purpose. Use the end mark that fits the purpose.

Kinds of SentencesExamples
1. Statement
Make a statement to tell something.
End with a period.
Sharks are fish.
There are about 350 different kinds of sharks.
2. Question
Ask a question to find out something.
End with a question mark.
Are sharks dangerous?
How big are sharks?
3. Exclamation
Use an exclamation to express a strong feeling.
End with an exclamation point.
Sharks have a lot of teeth!
I am scared of sharks!
4. Command
Give a command to tell someone what to do.
End with a period.
Swim away from sharks.
Do not shout near a shark.
