Three friends were walking home from school one day. Suddenly, they found a huge fence blocking the sidewalk and the street that kept them from passing.

Levi grabbed the top of the fence and flipped himself over it. Next Luc took a running start and vaulted over the fence. Jerry looked around and saw a hole in the fence. He crawled through the hole to the other side. Then the friends continued on their way.

Our school had a comedy competition to see who could tell the funniest story. The contestant who got the hardest laughs would win a comedy DVD.

First, Shannon got up and told a story about her pet cat. The audience giggled hearing about the cat’s tricks. Then, Lorenzo told about the time he fell in the lake at his uncle’s wedding. Students howled as he described coming out of the water draped in wet weeds. Ian told about the time he locked himself in the bathroom. Some people chuckled at that. Finally, Sherman described baking a cake without a recipe. The audience laughed when he described trying to eat the rubbery cake that came out of the oven.
