If this were a work of fiction, that would be the end of the story. But in real life, the moment of glory rarely comes at the right time. After the basket, things returned to normal. In other words, I was hopelessly bad at sports and was often ridiculed. But I survived. Middle school brought moments so awful that I’m not going to even try to put them on paper.
