U2 has sold more than 170 million albums and has won 22 Grammy Awards, more than any other rock group. The band was named to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005. But the most recognized band member is Bono, known not only for his song writing and singing, but also for helping millions of people around the world. The success of bands like U2 gives people like Bono the chance to speak out about world hunger and problems in poor countries. He has spoken before the United Nations, the U.S. Congress, and to world leaders everywhere.
