Use verbs in the present tense when you make comparisons between people, places, or things the way they are now. Be sure your subjects and verbs agree.
Add -s | if the subject is he, she, it, or a singular noun: Kim celebrates her birthday in May, but Tina celebrates hers in June. |
Add -es | if the verb ends in sh, ch, ss, s, x, or z: Maria fishes for fun, but Rob fixes old bikes. |
Do not add -s or -es | if the subject is I, you, we, they, or a plural noun: Max and Diana play guitar in the band. I am different because I play drums. |
