An idiom is a group of words that, when used together, has a different meaning than each of the individual words.

Visualize Idioms You can interpret some idioms by creating a mental image. The image can give you a clue about the meaning of the idiom. All of the roads come together— they are all connected. Tied together must mean “connected” in this sentence.
