Throughout this unit, you have been thinking about what happens when cultures cross paths. Choose one of these ways to explore the Guiding Question:

  • Discuss With a group, discuss a time when you met someone from a different cultural background than your own. What did you learn about the other person that you didn’t know before?

  • Role-Play With a partner, role-play an interview with a European settler. Decide which role each person will play. Plan the questions and answers. Then conduct the interview.

  • Draw Make a visual representation of the poem “Old World New World.” Explain your artwork.
