Imagine that you want to apply for a volunteer job. How do you decide if the job is right for you?
1 Read the Application What information do you get from the application? What information do you have to give?
2 Make Your Decision Use these questions to decide if the job is right for you:
• Can you easily get to the location?
• Are you old enough to volunteer? Will your parents/guardian approve?
• Do the volunteer jobs seem interesting to you?
• Are you available at the necessary times?
If you answered “no” to any of them, the job is probably not right for you. If you answered “yes” to all of them, then you should apply for the job.
3 Complete the Application Fill out every part of the application. Do not leave anything blank. If you do not understand something, ask for help.
4 Return the Application Return the completed application to the volunteer organization. Check to see if you can mail it or if you need to drop it off in person. Then sit back and wait to see if you get the job!
