Wow! Did you see that play? He’s my hero!

Wow! Did you see that play? He’s my hero!

But why? What did he do that makes him a hero?

Sam: I mean, I really admire him. He’s the best in his sport!

Joe: But does that make someone a “hero,” just because he or she is the best at something?

Sam: Well, yes. I guess so.

Joe: I disagree. To me, a hero is someone who does something extraordinary to help others, like a firefighter. Firefighters are heroes because they risk their lives to save others.
