Focus on Genre: Biography

A biography is narrative nonfiction about a person’s life. The author writes about an important person and usually shows the sequence of events in the person’s life with chronological, or time, order.

Biographies can be entertaining, as well as informative, and may seem like fiction. But biographies are about real people and the events in their lives.
