First of all, I’d like to thank Principal Rogan for letting me speak to you today. I’ll take just a few minutes of your time to talk about a problem we have in our community and how, together, we can solve it!

The park down the street, where many little kids in town play, is a disaster area! A group of students went to the park yesterday and found litter all over the ground—and even broken glass. The playground equipment needs to be repaired and repainted. The park needs new trash cans and recycling bins. The wooden fence is falling over, so it can’t keep the little kids safely inside. Finally, the water fountain isn’t working, so kids can’t get a drink of water anymore.

I know this all sounds like a lot of work. And it is! But, with your help, we can make the park a better place for everyone. All we’re asking is for you to donate a few hours of your time next Saturday.
