Focus on Genre: Legend

A legend is a fictional story passed down over time that is told as if it is a true part of history. It may include some element of truth or historic fact, but the events are made to seem bigger and better than they really were.

A legend usually has a hero or heroine as the main character. The story told often holds the cultural beliefs from which it comes.
