unique

(yū-nēk) adj. Something that is unique is unusual or one of its kind. That hairstyle is very unique.

vein

(vān) n. A vein is a blood vessel that carries blood to the heart. You can see veins in your wrist through your skin.

ventricle

(ven-tri-kul) n. A vetricle is a lower area of the heart. The ventricles pump blood out of your heart.

vessel

(ves-ul) n. A vessel is a tube through which liquid travels in a living thing. The vessels in a leaf deliver water to the plant.

warning

(wor-ning) n. A warning lets you know that there is danger ahead. Traffic signs are warnings to drive carefully.

waste

(wāst) n. Waste is something that is left over or thrown away. People put their waste outside to be picked up each week.

weight

(wāt) n. A weight is a heavy object used for exercise. People lift weights to make their muscles stronger.

welcome

(wel-kum) v. When you welcome someone, you greet that person kindly. We all welcome our relatives.
