Tiger Facts

  • • The Siberian tiger is the largest type of tiger. An adult male can grow to be more than 10 feet long and weigh more than 600 pounds.

  • • Female tigers usually give birth to two or three cubs at a time.

  • • A newborn cub weighs between two and three pounds.

  • • Big cats such as tigers can roar, but they can’t purr.

  • • Tigers are one of the few cats that like to swim in water.
