UNCLE MUSKRAT. Yes, indeed.

SECOND BROTHER. But I did bring this. [He reaches into his game bag.] This very fat rabbit.

UNCLE MUSKRAT. [to THIRD BROTHER, who is leaning over the cooking pot and reaching in to pull out a bit of fish] And what about you, nephew?

THIRD BROTHER. What?

WILLOW WOMAN. How was your hunting today?

THIRD BROTHER. Today was a good day. It was very good indeed, better than my brothers. I shot three moose!

UNCLE MUSKRAT. [holding out his hands and looking up at the sky] Three moose!

THIRD BROTHER. With one arrow.

WILLOW WOMAN. One arrow?

THIRD BROTHER. I waited till they were all lined up so that my arrow went through them one after another.

UNCLE MUSKRAT. Of course. Why waste arrows?

WILLOW WOMAN. I hate to ask this.

THIRD BROTHER. Ask what?

WILLOW WOMAN. Those three moose. Where are they?

THIRD BROTHER. Oh, right. Well, what happened was that …

LITTLE LISTENER. Go on, brother. I am listening.

THIRD BROTHER. I went to try to find my brothers so they could help me skin those moose and bring the meat back to camp. But while I was gone a group of bears came and they dragged all three moose away. [He reaches into his game bag.] But I did get this fat pheasant.

LITTLE LISTENER. Brothers, you did well. We can add the game you brought back to what we have. We will share our feast with the whole village.
