Principal Dunn thinks that Eve’s leadership skills will take her far. “If this young woman set her mind to being the mayor, that would happen,” he says. “I hope that does happen. She’s been a great student leader.”

Eve, who stands 4 feet and 11 inches tall, says that it’s not always easy being a leader. “People look at me and they always underestimate me. They say ‘Oh, this little girl can’t do anything,’” Eve explains. “I feed on that. When people push you down, you’ve got to prove them wrong.”

Sometimes Eve wants to run away from responsibility. But eventually, she remembers how much she likes making things better for others, especially at her school.
