Finding Information on the World Wide Web

The Internet is an international network, or connection, of computers that share information with one another. The World Wide Web allows you to find, read, go through, and organize information. The Internet is like a giant library, and the World Wide Web is everything in the library including the books, the librarian, and the computer catalog. The Internet is a fast way to get the most current information about your topic! You’ll find resources like encyclopedias and dictionaries, as well as amazing pictures, movies, and sounds.

How to Get Started

Check with your teacher for how to access the Internet from your school. Usually you can just double click on the icon, or picture, to get access to the Internet and you’re on your way!
