Making Power

Farther down the river is the Dalles Dam. A dam is a barrier built across a river. It holds back the water. The water can then be used as a resource for different things.

The Dalles Dam makes electricity. Water rushes through the dam. It turns machines that generate electricity. The Dalles Dam generates enough electric power for two cities.
