King Kong Lives
King Kong
Alfonzo stretched sleepily as the morning sun warmed him. He loved camping in the woods. He had never been to this spot before, so he took time to look around him.
When he first saw the creature, he thought it was a mountain in the distance. But then he saw it move. He saw its huge, hairy arms rip up trees like toothpicks. He saw it coming straight for him. Alfonzo knew what this creature was. It was King Kong, the beast that he had seen on the news. Everyone was trying to catch this gigantic, terrible creature.
King Kong crashed through the trees toward Alfonzo. Soon Alfonzo could hear it breathing. He stood frozen in fear.
Suddenly, the tree tops started shaking behind him. Five helicopters came speeding through the sky straight toward King Kong.
King Kong looked up and swung his massive arms at the helicopters. Alfonzo heard several loud pops and then a crash.
The people in the helicopters had hit King Kong with sleeping darts. Now the creature lay sleeping, inches from Alfonzo’s feet. The helicopters landed and crews poured out. Within minutes, the crews came down, tied up the creature, and lifted it away.
Alfonzo shook his head in disbelief. Then he packed up his things and started the hike home.
