Do the creature and the man know each other?

The Stranger’s Story

My name is Victor Frankenstein. I created an evil monster. The terrible things that the creature has done are all because of me. No one else must ever know how to do what I have done—I will take that secret with me to my grave.

After many years of study, I had discovered how to bring something to life. I was eager to use what I had learned, so I devoted two years to making a new creature out of bones and body parts from graveyards and slaughterhouses.

At last, my experiment was ready. An enormous, lifeless creature lay on the table in my lab. I thought my creation would show the world what a great scientist I was. I did not know how wrong I was!

That cold November night, I brought my creature to life. I remember the moment his black lips moved. His skin, stretched and sewn together, quivered. He took a rasping breath and opened his watery, yellow eyes. Then that repulsive creature sat up and looked at me.
