My dear sister,
What do you think of the man’s fantastic story? At first, I did not believe him, but now I do because I met the creature.
After Victor Frankenstein died, the creature climbed onto the ship, and I saw him standing over Frankenstein’s lifeless body. He wept as he told me about his lonely life. He regretted that he took people’s lives, but he blamed his wickedness on the way he had been treated—that no one had ever loved him. Now that his creator was gone, he wanted to disappear in the Arctic wasteland.
Then he jumped off the ship and landed on a small sheet of ice. The waves soon carried him away, and he vanished in the darkness.
