Kids in Space, Now!
If there can be a Teacher-in-Space program, then there should be a Kids-in-Space program. We kids want to enjoy the amazing thrill and excitement of zooming into space. Kids from all over the country would try out. We’re already experts at going to school, so we can easily spend a year in a training program to go into space. We study science and math, two important subjects for space travel. The thrill of flying into space in a space shuttle would be too fantastic to miss.
Kids at space camp love the challenge of space training.

Junk Yard in the Sky
This computer-made image shows all the junk being tracked around Earth.
Since 1957, people have put more than 5,000 satellites in space. These machines float above Earth. They help us talk to each other, track weather, and study space. But only about 600 are being used. The rest are junk. And some of it is dangerous, zooming along at thousands of miles per hour! It could be life-threatening to astronauts. The U.S. Space Command tracks this space junk so that it doesn’t run into the path of active satellites. What a waste of time and effort! If we can launch rockets and set up space stations, then we should be able to pick up all of that garbage. Let’s get someone to clean it up!
