Talk About It!

  • 1 TRY OUT LANGUAGE

  • 2 LEARN GRAMMAR

  • 3 APPLY ON YOUR OWN

Use Appropriate Language

People who like masks sometimes collect them. What interests you? What do you collect, or what would you like to collect?

With a group, talk about your ideas. Find out what your classmates are interested in, too. Do any of them have collections? Record the information on a chart.

As a group, prepare a formal presentation about what you discussed. Choose one person in the group to give the presentation to the class.

Use Compound Sentences

Use the conjunctions and, but, and or to combine some of the sentences in your presentation. Your talk will sound better and will be more interesting.

Just OK:

Boris collects postcards. He always buys some when he goes on vacation. He asks other people to send postcards to him.

Better:

Boris collects postcards. He always buys some when he goes on vacation, and he asks other people to send postcards to him.
