Publish, Share, and Reflect

You have finished your personal narrative. Now you are ready to publish your work! When you publish your writing, you put it in final form to share with others. Follow these steps.

• 1 FINISH AND DISPLAY

  Think about how your writing looks.

  • • Make sure your handwriting is clear.

  • • Add drawings to show what happened and how you felt.

  • • Display your work on a class gallery wall.

• 2 READ ALOUD

  There are many ways you can share your writing. For this personal narrative, try reading it aloud. As you read it, think about your purpose.

  • • Is your narrative funny? Are you reading it to entertain your friend? If so, read it a little faster and use gestures to support the action you are describing.

  • • Do you want your listener to think seriously about something? If so, read your narrative a little slower and pause at the important points.
