Long ago, King Midas lived in a large, beautiful home. His home was built on land with many trees and flowers. He had a beautiful daughter who loved him very much. King Midas was a rich man. Midas should have been content with his riches, but he was a greedy man.
One night, a creature named Silenus came to the kingdom. Midas knew that Silenus was friends with one of the gods. Midas gave Silenus food and let him sleep in one of his best rooms.
The god was happy that Midas had treated Silenus so well. The god came to Midas and said, “I will grant you one wish.”
Midas said, “I wish that everything I touch will turn into gold.”
Midas touched a bowl. It turned to gold! He smiled at his success.
