Publish, Share, and Reflect

You have finished your biographical sketch. Now you are ready to publish your work! When you publish your writing, you share it with others. Follow these steps.

• 1 FINISH AND DISPLAY

  Think about how your writing looks. Get it ready to share.

  • • Make sure your handwriting is clear.

  • • Add drawings or photographs to show the person and support ideas.

  • • Display it on a bulletin board.

• 2 READ ALOUD

  There are many ways you can share your writing. Try reading your biographical sketch aloud. As you read, think about your purpose.

  • • If you are sharing your biographical sketch to give information, pause after each sentence to give your listeners time to think. Show pictures to help them understand.

  • • If you are sharing your biographical sketch to inspire, change your voice so listeners focus on important parts.

Dr. Sally Ride is a scientist and astronaut. She was born on May 26, 1951, and lives in California. She was the first American woman in outer space. She was a mission specialist in space. Later she wrote three books about space. Now she is a physics teacher at a university in San Diego.
