In this unit, you learned about some ways that writers organize ideas. Choose a selection from the unit and draw a diagram or other graphic that shows its organization. It could be a Cause-and-Effect Chart or a Sequence Chain. Use your graphic to explain the organization of ideas to a partner.

• Discuss With a group, discuss new chapters in your lives. Ask questions with Why, What, When, Where, or How. Share what you learned about one classmate with the class.
• Write Think about one experience the characters in either “Brothers in Hope” or “Refugees Find New Lives” had after arriving in the United States. Write a journal entry about it.
• Draw Think about a television show or movie where someone had to start over. Create a visual that shows the experience. Describe it to a partner.
