Give and Follow Directions

Exercise is good for the heart. What exercises do you know how to do? Could you teach one to your classmates?

Work with a group to write directions for an exercise you all know. Make a list of directions like the one below.

Give directions to another group for doing your exercise. Then follow the other group’s directions for their exercise.

Use Possessive Adjectives

When you give directions, you may need to use possessive adjectives. You may also hear possessive adjectives when you follow directions. Be sure they match the noun or pronoun that they go with.

EXAMPLESWatch how I move my arms. You move your arms like that.
Some people are not lifting their knees high enough.
