Use Action Verbs

  • Verbs tell what a person does, has, or is. An action verb tells what a person does.

    EXAMPLEMarie writes about her goal.
  • • A complete predicate in a sentence often tells what the subject does. The verb is the most important word in the predicate.

  • • The verb has to agree with, or match, the subject. Add -s to the verb if the subject tells about one place, one thing, or one other person.
