How to Express Ideas and Opinions

  • 1. To express an idea, tell what you see.

  • 2. To express an opinion, tell what you think or feel. Give reasons for your opinion.

I think the girl wants to work in that building.

Use Verbs

Think about the verbs you will use when you express your ideas and opinions. The verbs you use need to agree with the subjects of your sentences.

Remember to add -s to the verb if the subject is singular.

Singular subject:The girl stares at the skyscraper. I think she has a goal.
Plural subject:Many people work in the building. I think it’s in a big city.
