What Is Next for the Chicharrones? Imagine that you will help the Chicharrones build a community. What are you going to put in it? There is room for several streets, buildings, and houses. How will you arrange them? Will there be green space around them? How will traffic move?
1 Make a Plan Make a list of what you would like to put in the community. Do you want houses and apartments? Will there be parks and stores? After you’ve made your list, make a sketch to show your plan.
• Make a large square or rectangle for the property borders.
• Use simple shapes and lines for buildings, parks, and streets.
• Label streets, buildings, and other details in your plan.
2 Practice Your Presentation Practice presenting your plan to the class. Become familiar with your plan so you can quickly point out details. Use expression to show that you are interested. Ask a partner to listen and make suggestions.
3 Present Your Plan Share your plan with the class. Speak in a loud, clear voice. Display your sketch so everyone can see it. Name each detail as you point it out. Invite students to ask questions.
