CAREER STUDY

If you volunteer to support an issue that matters to you, most organizations ask you to fill out a membership form.

  • 1 Find a Group Use these steps to find a group you want to support.

    • • Think about what matters to you. What would you like to see changed in your community? Is there an issue that is important to you, such as keeping your parks clean or encouraging people to vote?

    • • Check your local newspaper. What group supports this issue?

    • • Look up information about the group online, or call the organization to talk to someone about what it does.

    • • Choose a group and get a membership form.

  • 2 Read the Membership Form What information do you get from the membership form? What information do you have to give?

  • 3 Complete the Form Follow instructions closely. Write as neatly as possible or type the information. Fill out every part of the form. If you do not understand something, ask for help.

  • 4 Return the Form Return the completed form to the volunteer organization as instructed.
