A pronoun takes the place of a noun or refers to a noun.

PRONOUN AGREEMENT	EXAMPLES
Use the correct pronoun for a person or thing.
• To tell about yourself, use I.	I want to find out about careers.
• When you speak to another person, use you.	What career are you interested in?
• To tell about a boy or man, use he.	Scott likes art. He wants to be a photographer.
• For a girl or woman, use she.	Anna likes animals. She wants to be a veterinarian.
• For a thing, use it.	What about music? Is it a good career?
• For yourself and other people, use we.	Sam, Jill, and I like music. We might be good musicians.
• When you speak to more than one other person, use you.	Joe and Maylin, what do you want to do?
• To tell about other people or things, use they.	Joe and Maylin love children. They want to be teachers.
