Use Complete Sentences

A complete sentence has a subject and a predicate.

All people subject drink water. predicate

To find the subject in a sentence, ask yourself: Whom or what is the sentence about? The sentence above is about people.

The complete subject includes all the words that tell about the subject. The most important word in the complete subject is usually a noun.

EXAMPLEAll people subject drink water.

The complete predicate often tells what the subject does. The verb shows the action.

EXAMPLEAll people drink predicate water.
