Arenal (ah-rā-nol) is an active volcano in Costa Rica.

Sonia: Hey, Óscar, you are from Costa Rica, right?

Sonia: Did you ever visit the Arenal volcano?

Óscar: Of course! It’s a very popular place to go.

Sonia: My family and I went there for vacation last summer. I loved it!

Óscar: Really? What did you like best?

Sonia: I liked watching the volcano at night. I saw bright colors exploding from the top!

Óscar: I agree that the volcano is fun to watch, but my favorite part is the Venado Caverns. They are underground caves. Did you go there?

Sonia: Yes, we went there, but I didn’t like them. It was dark, and there were bats, spiders, and frogs inside.
