Use Subject Pronouns

Use a subject pronoun as the subject of a sentence.

  • • Use I when you talk about yourself.

    EXAMPLEI visited a volcano.
  • • Use you when you talk to another person.

    EXAMPLEYou visited a volcano, too.
  • • Use he when you talk about one man or one boy.

    EXAMPLEJuan has a camera. He takes photos of volcanoes.
  • • Use she when you talk about one woman or one girl.

  • • Use it when you talk about one thing, one place, or one idea.
