Use Subject Pronouns
Use a subject pronoun as the subject of a sentence.
• Use I when you talk about yourself.
EXAMPLE I visited a volcano. • Use you when you talk to another person.
EXAMPLE You visited a volcano, too. • Use he when you talk about one man or one boy.
EXAMPLE Juan has a camera. He takes photos of volcanoes. • Use she when you talk about one woman or one girl.
EXAMPLE My aunt is a scientist. She studies volcanoes. • Use it when you talk about one thing, one place, or one idea.
EXAMPLE Kilauea is a volcano. It is very interesting.
