• Add -er to many adjectives to compare two things. | |
EXAMPLE | Frankenstein is taller than Wolf Man. |
• Add -est to many adjectives to compare three or more things. | |
EXAMPLE | Godzilla is the tallest monster of all. |
• Sometimes you need to make a spelling change before you add -er or -est. If the adjective ends in a consonant plus y, you usually change the y to i before you add -er or -est. | |
