Make a Movie Poster

Make Comparisons

Look at the movie poster below and the one on page 227. Also look at the poster on page 235 in “Film Fright.” Then create your own poster for a movie monster.

Choose or invent a movie monster. Draw the character on a large piece of paper. Make up a movie title. Write it in large letters. Make your poster exciting!

Now form a group and compare monsters and movie titles. You may want to use words like dirty, funny, green, sharp, mean, slimy, smart, and spooky.

Use Adjectives to Make Comparisons

When you use an adjective to make a comparison, you usually have to change the word. Add -er to many adjectives to compare two things. Add -est to many adjectives to compare three or more things.

EXAMPLESThe bride of Frankenstein has crazy hair.
It is crazier than the creature’s hair.
In fact, her hair is the craziest hair in the movie.
This movie poster is for two movies: Son of Frankenstein and The Bride of Frankenstein.
