Use Complete Sentences

Remember, a complete sentence has two parts: the subject and the predicate.

EXAMPLEThe artist paints interesting images.
  • • A statement is a sentence that tells something. In a statement, the subject usually comes before the predicate.

    EXAMPLEThe name of the artistis Paul Gauguin.
  • • A simple sentence is a sentence with one subject and one predicate.

    EXAMPLEMany of Gauguin’s paintingshang in museums.
