Prewrite

When you prewrite, you gather ideas and choose your topic. You also make a plan for what you will write. Follow these steps.

• 1 CHOOSE A TOPIC

  Think about all of the exercises you do. Which exercises could you explain how to do in writing? Which exercises do you think other people might like to do also?

• 2 ORGANIZE YOUR IDEAS

  To write a procedure, you need to give instructions step-by-step. Write each step in the exercise in order. Use a sequence chain. Practice the exercise to test your sequence chain. Make sure you do not leave any steps out of the procedure.
