HEALTH & SCIENCE

A Public Service Announcement (PSA) is an advertisement that is made to inform people about important topics. Research a topic that is related to the human heart, and create a PSA to make people aware of your topic.

  • 1 Choose a Topic Search the Internet, newspapers, and magazines to find out more about a heart-related topic. Below are some suggestions to get you started:

    • • cardiovascular exercise

    • • cholesterol

    • • CPR

    • • organ donation

    • • smoking

    • • stress

  • 2 Research Your Topic Decide what you want people to know about your topic. Do you want to share the importance of learning CPR? Do you want people to think about being organ donors? Use the Internet or library to find information to support what you are trying to tell people.

  • 3 Make Your PSA Use graphic software, colored pencils or markers, or a recording device to make your PSA. Be sure the information in the announcement is clear and easy to read or hear.

  • 4 Present Your PSA Display or play the recording of your PSA in your classroom and tell your classmates about it. Give a brief explanation of your topic. Ask your classmates if your message was clear.
