The tense of a verb shows when an action happens.
• Use the present tense to tell about an action that happens now or often.
EXAMPLE | Grandpa and I often camp in the mountains. |
• Use the past tense to tell about an action that already happened.
EXAMPLE | Last year, Grandpa and I camped in a state park. |
• Add -ed to most verbs when you talk about a past action.
EXAMPLE | Grandpa and I walked for three hours. |
Change the verb in the box to the past tense and say it. Then add the past tense verb and say the sentence.
